The group's first project has been to develop a series
of glucose monitoring advice leaflets. Each leaflet is tailored
to different treatment regimens and provides patients with
clear advice about the ‘whys’ and ‘whens’
of blood glucose monitoring. The leaflets were developed to
help patients monitor their blood glucose appropriately and
to use these measurements to improve self-care.
A series of seven leaflets has been produced. The series
consists of information for people:
Managed on diet
and exercise alone
Taking metformin
alone or in combination with pioglitazone or rosiglitazone
Taking a sulphonylurea,
repaglinide or nateglinide alone or in combination with
other oral medication
